Albertans vote for their school board trustees as part of the municipal general elections. A general election takes place every four years.
If you are a new candidate, congratulations on making the leap into electoral politics. If you are running for re-election or you have run before, congratulations on seeking community representation once again. You are taking the first step in an important democratic process. Our school boards are important decision-making bodies, and your desire to take part in this process is crucial for their democratic function.
Nominations for the general election are between January 1, 2021 and September 20, 2021.

Nomination papers must be filed at the Grasslands Central Office by September 20, 2021. All candidates must provide Form 4 which includes the signatures of 5 electors eligible to vote in the election, as well as Form 5, Candidate Financial Information, in accordance with sections 27 and 47 of the Local Authorities Election Act and sections 4(4) and 74 of the Education Act.

COVID-19 Safety Measures
All visitors to Grasslands Central Office must ensure they are symptom free. A limit of two people will be allowed to attend an appointment – the candidate and one other person. All individuals attending must wear a mask and use the available hand sanitizer.
