Disney 2018 - BCHS Concert and Stage Band both win auditions to perform!
The BCHS band trip is an annual event with destinations varying every year. This year, the destination is Anaheim, California to take part in the “Music in the Parks” music festival and to perform in Disneyland. The festival itself has been running for twenty-five years and has garnered international attention from countries all around the world while the Disneyland performance part of the trip is based on passing a difficult audition process. It will truly be a unique experience for BCHS Band students as they will meet other competitors from around North America and possibly the world.
Our trip is quite historical this year because both of the high school bands (Stage and Concert) have passed the strict audition process and have been accepted to perform in Disneyland. Other activities planned for the 2018 band trip will include a day at Universal Studios and sightseeing. Musical activities will include festival performance, the Disney Sound Check Session workshop, a Broadway-type musical and a two performances in Disneyland.
The trip is scheduled to take 6 days, (5 nights) and is scheduled for May 16-21, 2018. All BCHS Concert band students are encouraged to attend, but the trip is not mandatory, and is indeed a privilege extended to band students. At this point, transportation will consist of air travel from Calgary to Anaheim and chartered motor coach in southern California.
Expected cost is estimated to be approximately $1500 - 1700 per student after fundraising dollars are subtracted, so student involvement in fundraisers is very important!
MAY 2017 - $50
SEPT 29, 2017 - $500
NOV 17, 2017 - $500
